I like slogans. In fact, I love them.  They are quick and sum up what you are trying to convey with just a statement, but slogans are meant to be factual and trustworthy.  During the Republican National Convention (RNC) I heard the words, "Country First" and "Service" many times.  I want to know are they just words to be spoken or are they slogans.

Let us take the word "Service".  Yes, McCain has a long track record of service most of our past nonproductive presidents have also.  Shouldn't out president have some service and forward thinking?  Technologically we are behind, educationally we are behind, and innovativeness we are definitely behind. We have created electric cars but we are not driving them because of pressure from the oil industry to OUR government. I consider this a disservice.

"Country First" has been ringing in my ears since September 11, 2001.  I do understand as an American citizen, "We come first", so let's do it.  Let us put America first in everything with Education, Health Care, Energy Independence, and Poverty.  Let us make our public schools funding first before our defense budget.  Let us provide health insurance to all citizens and not just the working class. Lets us be independent of foreign energy and not fill the pockets of big business.  Let us provide for US before we provide to other countries that are in need. Yes, let us put "Country First".

From what has been proven to me, they are just words.
