Istaria a bit light
Istaria a bit light

The holidays are here. Unfortunately, that means with all the hustle and bustle between Thanksgiving and New Year's, my time playing Istaria is somewhat limited. Granted, I'm still there. But Istaria has the nice, on-your-own-terms pace that allows a player to take time off if necessary, to pick up where he/she leaves off when time permits, and continue to play. Many MMOs currently keep their players in a neverending struggle of quests and "must haves" for certain levels. However, with the pace in Istaria, such a thing is a rarity. People are not "expected" to keep up with any one group powerleveling themselves to the next level cap just so they're ready for the next content patch. Instead, Istaria's content is well spread-out, meaning that content can be found all across the world for anyone. Certain side quests are only found in specific locations, but anyone may stumble upon them. Low-level characters may end up in a high-level area for reasons of transporting goods for construction. Most importantly, though, a player sets whatever pace he or she may so desire and no one in the community besmirches them for it.
